City of Mansfield – Municipal Building
Mansfield, Ohio

Built in the mid 1970’s the Mansfield Municipal Building exterior was Brutalistic in style as a reaction to the energy crisis of the time. As contemporary standards demanded security screenings entering the courts areas, the Seckel Group was selected to design the entry addition. Using design cues from the original structure this functional area provides an open and naturally lighted space, minimizing inconveniences to those utilizing the court system. In 2010 a fire in the courts area caused considerable smoke and water damage throughout the entire department and police offices below. The Seckel Group analyzed necessary repairs, created bid documents and selected new interior throughout.
